LittleGems Childcare Service uses an online system called EyLog (for early years Log) where staff captures a photo, video or a voice recording as well as written notes using a tablet device. Observations are then uploaded to a secure web-based learning journey to which parents also have access to.

EyLog offers a two way flow of information, as parents can access and contribute to a child’s profile in real time. Having the opportunity to provide parental feedback can have a significant impact on a child’s development. Also, we believe in partnership with parents in working to achieve the best for every child’s development. As a parent, EYLog affords you the opportunity to have an almost full and real time experience of your child’s various activities, which are designed to encourage their overall growth and development.

The technology also supports a daily record for the under 3-year olds, of their daily routine such as meal times, milk, and nappy changes. We log in these information as they occur.

EyLog web and mobile applications are protected by SSL certificates using the https protocol, with all data being encrypted and transmitted. Your data is secure as it isn’t stored either on the tablets or on the nursery computer. As soon as an observation has been recorded and uploaded to the EyLog server, it is automatically deleted from the tablet. All data is held in an encrypted form and is accessed controlled.
